A friend of mine is going to Comic-con in PHX this weekend with this bad-ass Garrus costume.  So freakin’ talented! She told me to tell Tumblr that if anyone wanted to see more pics and info on this, they should check in at Red Nebula Studios (http://www.rednebulastudios.com/)  where she’ll post more after the Con…

HOLY FUCKING CALIBRATIONS.

What a perfect costume!

i am so sorry that this is massively pervy

but

Oh yeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeees.

if you’ll excuse me, i’ll be doing some calibrations in my bunk…

and it’s not just learning the skill of taking care of yourself, it’s being ACCOUNTABLE to legitimately keep working at the hard parts of taking care of yourself, which is important.

Yeah, absolutely!! And I think especially for people like you and me who are also Creative Types, it’s really easy to see (and thing of concrete examples of) why accountability is really important — we have that from setting goals and deadlines and stuff! And we know that even really nice fun stuff that results in pretty magical things is RIDICULOUSLY HARD WORK SOMETIMES.

and also being good to each other makes us better? like this morning I was telling Jessica some things that I realised… I needed to also do… to be able to tell other people to do them… and prove they worked… so, like. <3

i am so grateful every day for the amazing friends i have. you have all helped me tremendously and i hope i can offer the same kind of help back to you.

YES <3

and jo you make a very good point here!! coaxing someone back to health really does help loads with learning the skill of doing that for yourself, also!

one really scary thing about being in less-than-great mental health is that you can get way locked up inside your own head, too, and you do little escapist things that just work as a temporary solution but when they end they plunge you right back down into the depths of the Badness, and I think that maybe reaching out to other people is a way of seeing outside of that Badness and escaping it for a little while in a way that helps with the transitional shock a little more? Maybe?

Anyway, friends are really nice to have

sometimes i think it’s amazing that like within my friend group we’re all fluctuating constantly between different shades of falling apart, because other people who know what it’s like to be falling apart are where we find solidarity, but even though none of us really quite have our shit together we’re able to hold one another together? because when one of us is dangerously dangling off the edge of a cliff, that’s usually when someone else has a good enough footing on solid ground to pull them back up, at least a little ways. It’s kind of a scary precarious arrangement that we have, but it’s also really nice in a lot of ways?

Have you ever just looked at someone and thought, “I really love you”. They’re just talking or humming or watching a movie or reading a book or laughing or something, and there’s something about them in that moment—their body is alive, there’s a light in their eyes, something—that makes you think, “I just really love you.” It’s a weird sensation to think this, but it’s pretty awesome that we can feel this way about another being.

I walk into a room, and for this industry, I’m impossibly tall. When they find it hard to pair you up with the opposite sex, then what’s left for a woman? Either you’re the ball-buster or the not-so-attractive girlfriend standing by the lead. I mean, traditionally not so attractive. Because you have your starlets and then you have their best friends who are these character actresses. When you fall within the cracks, you thank God for sci-fi, because they’ll give you a gun, and they’ll say, ‘Go over there and conquer that world. You kick some ass, girl!’
